Finding Silver Linings After Deep Loss with Lauren Jackson

Lauren Jackson and I met recently when I was needing technical assistance with my website. During our meeting she said, “You need to interview me for your podcast.” So, I asked her to share her story with me and when I heard it, I totally agreed!

Lauren has had a lot of hard challenges in her young life but she’s one of the most optimistic people I’ve ever met. She married her high school sweetheart, who’d become a quadriplegic after a horrific accident, and was his caregiver from the beginning. After Lauren and her husband, Joel, had been married three-and-a-half years, they decided to expand their young family by adopting a teenage boy out of foster care. Only eight months later her husband died of a heart attack and Lauren was left to raise their son, Freddie, alone. She shares how she and Freddie moved to her dream farmhouse after that and how healing it was for them. God’s hand has been working all throughout her story and she wants others to know how faithful He’s been to her and that He will be faithful to them as well. Her enthusiasm for life shines through as she talks about the dreams she has for her future (she’s still only 33 years old!) and how she realizes it probably won’t be long before she’s an empty nester. Even though she’s journeyed through the hard she wants to be a bright light to those around her. You’re gonna love Lauren!

“I want people to look at me and say, “How in the world did she go through all of that and yet she still is radiating sunshine everywhere she goes?””
