We had such an awesome time celebrating the first Live Hometown Event! It was super-hot but eventually the clouds rolled in and cooled it off. I’m so grateful for all of the great ladies who stepped in and made this event possible!! And I must thank my husband, John, for getting everything ready to welcome the attendees. It takes a village, y’all!
When God laid this event on my heart at the end of last year, I knew it was going to be something special. I had a vision for bringing the women of our community together to celebrate and enjoy getting to know each other in a closer way and to create a sisterhood of women who will support and encourage one another. I believe it did just that and I’m looking forward to doing it again!
We started the day at Infinity Church with the VIP sessions with Melissa Capps’ workshop on Conquering the Clutter and ended the session with Connie Tresedder walking us through finding our purpose in our current season. Thanks so much to Alex Cooke and Confidence Coffee Supply who supplied coffee for the event and his mom, Jeanie Givens, for preparing and serving it.
Then we headed to the Roper Farm to finish setting up and greet all of our guests! We welcomed each guest with a swag bag and a Love Where You Live t-shirt. After we welcomed everyone, we enjoyed great BBQ and all the fixin’s along with strawberry cake from Sweet Catherine’s, and my mom’s famous brownies!
Then we got things going with events and prizes. I must say there were a lot of competitive women vying for those prizes!
After the fun and games, we settled in with some praise and worship with Elise Younts and Beckah Wille
Then Melissa Capps kicked off the speakers with her message on Reclaiming Peace in Your Home and Life followed by Connie Tresedder sharing How to Change Your Thoughts to Change Your Life. I rounded out the group with my talk about the Samaritan woman and How to Love Where You Live.
And I have to share at least a couple of pictures of my adorable grandson Owen!
We ended the evening on a sweet note with Elise and Beckah gathering all of us around with an acapella version of The Blessing while we held hands and lifted our voices.
The sendoff came with a surprise fireworks show at the end with lots of oohs and aahs! I have to thank my husband for a spectacular show! And before everyone left we got some fun shots at the photo booth!
We had a great evening and look forward to the next one! I hope you’ll be there too!!
