Ann Curry and Leigh Owens are two of the funniest women I know, along with the rest of their family. They even call the road where Ann, all four children and their families live, Nuts Landing. I keep telling them they need their own show! They’ve gone through so much heartache in life, but their faith keeps them smiling.
Leigh lost her mom and youngest sister in a car accident when she was ten years old. Ann became a widow in her mid-twenties after only being married for 20 months. They came together when Jimmy, Leigh’s dad, married Ann and brought her into the Curry clan, making Ann an instant mom to His three remaining children. They also share how the kids felt about welcoming a new sibling into their family and the powerful revelation that baby brother shared with them later in life. And in more recent years they suffered the loss of their family patriarch, Jimmy, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and tell how they dealt with that grief as well as how the lessons Jimmy taught them in earlier years brought them full circle. You’ll be amazed at their hope-filled perspectives and appreciate why they came to have the hashtag #CurryStrong.
This family lives big and loves well. You’ll be laughing and crying while listening to their compelling story of God’s grace in the midst of loss.
