A Legacy of Joy and Hope After Loss Part 1 with Ann Curry and Leigh Owens

Welcome to the first episode of 2021! I hope this year will be so much better then the last and I’m looking forward to finding a lot more hope in the coming year.

I know you’re going to love my guests for the next two weeks, Ann Curry and Leigh Owens. They are two of the funniest women I know. I keep telling them they need their own show! They’ve gone through so much heartache in life but their faith keeps them smiling.

Leigh lost her mom and youngest sister in a car accident when she was ten years old. Ann became a widow in her mid-twenties after only being married for 20 months. They came together when Jimmy, Leigh’s dad, married Ann and brought her into the Curry clan. You’ll be amazed at their hope-filled perspectives and appreciate why they came to have the hashtag #CurryStrong. This family lives big and loves well. You’ll be laughing and crying while listening to their compelling story of God’s grace in the midst of loss.

Quotes

“It doesn’t matter how many times you fall down, it matters how many times you get up.” Ann sharing her and Jimmy’s mantra over their 35 years of marriage.

“Were you loved up?… Keep that short list so you don’t have to deal with [regrets].” – Leigh

“I think God designed family to be a little glimpse of what heaven is going to be like, where you have that sanctuary, that unconditional love, that protection, that happiness, that closeness… It’s His design for family.” – Ann
